Garden of the Gods, Colorado.
Remaining snow from the last snowfall provides excellent contrast against the sandstone rock formations within Garden of the Gods National Landmark on a cloudless day. Roughly 65 million years ago, as tectonic plates collided, overlying layers of sedimentary rock were forced upwards creating the iconic sandstone formations we see today.
This region was originally inhabited by the Ute and Cheyenne peoples. 10% of profits from the sale of this photograph will benefit the Native American Rights Fund.
